NBC Universal : P2P hurts the hardworking farm workers =))

In a really odd statement made recently in a hearing with the FCC, NBC Universal tried to win over the hearts and minds of politicians by making the outrageous claim that p2p and file sharing related piracy hurts the wallets of poor corn farmers simply trying to make a living !

They noted:

“Because of our nation’s interlocking economy, two-thirds of the lost earnings and lost jobs are in industries other than motion picture production. For example, in the absence of movie piracy, video retailers would sell and rent more titles. Movie theatres would sell more tickets and popcorn. Corn growers would earn greater profits and buy more farm equipment.”

crappy aint it ?? lolzz ..

This is not the first time Apple has givenfree product to its employees; in early 2005, the company rewarded all employees with a free 1GB iPod shuffle.

iTUNES - The Third Largest Music Retailer In US

According to recent industry reports , iTunes Music Store is currently the third largest music retailer in the US irrespective of the format . iTunes Store is only behind Walmart & Amazon (both of which primarily sell physical media aka CDs ) .

The direct-download music shop is said to have eclipsed Amazon in the first quarter of the year to reach 10 percent of all music sales in the country, dropping Amazon to 6.7 percent. Researchers have credited this primarily to apple selling over 21 million iPODs during the holiday season which encouraged more visitors to the online music store .

So for all those f*** at RIAA who have a problem wid dwindling CD sales , herezz something for ya ! time for ya to shove yer fingers up yer you-know-wat :D

With its big bang entry into the indian home entertainment market in december last year, Moser Baer promised to change the rules of the game.

Moser baer recently acquired 400 titles from captain video , 550 titles from bombino and more than 600 titles from indus videos thereby making it the largest hindi content owner in india .

Interested in (a) Safari ??

It Makes perfect sense for apple to launch itz browser "Safari" for the windows platform , but why would any windows user wanna migrate to safari when hezz got a lot others to choose from ?

The initiative of launching the browser for the windows platform seems to rely on the domino theory fuelled by infatuation . Steve Jobs must be hoping that there is a significant number of windows users who are so much in love with their ipods (me being one of them) and itunes thay they would as well download safari (anything remotely associated with apple is considered "cool" these days..) and end up falling in love with safari as well .
MAC ad campaigm where PC users are shown as old and boring whereas MAC users are portrayed as the cool and suave junta ....

But there is only one problem with that scenario . Safari sucks and i read on many forums that mac users themselves dont run it ! So why would windows users wanna migrate ?

For the windows operating system , the scene is pretty much crowded anyways . Firefox and IE are very popular and have fewer bugs and more features than Safari . And coming to the bugs part of is , point accepted , safari is still in itz beta stages , so no point talking about the bugs et cetera . But given the choices at this point in time , FireFox would still beat the living shit outta Safari . FireFoxzz getting a bot bloated these days but it still happens to be a better browser .

Many of my friends (me included) would happily ditch FireFox for IE if only IE supported many of the handy plug-ins that FF supports . Safari doesnt support plug-ins and it certainly doesnt benefit from a thriving community of plug-in developers the way FireFox does.

And obviously Apple has good reasons to launch Safari for the windows users for the fact that itz got nothing to lose . It may gain new users and since itz simply a port from the MAC OS therezz no risk of losing on anything either .

Apple is also throwing a bone to the highly anticipated iPhone developers . If developers create software for the highly anticipated gadget using Jobs Safari develoment plan, they get to run those apps in Safari on Windows for free. Maybe this is part of Apple's plan to create a plug-in platform for Safari by offering it up as a big platform for developers. And maybe in a year or so Safari will be a better browser because of the same .

So Apple has every reason to dangle Safari in front of Windows users. But right now, I dont see any good reasons for windows users to take the bait.

Batmans New Suit From The Dark Knight

Well herezz an EW exclusive pic of batmans new suit from the next installment in the franchisee , titled The Dark Knight . The movie is gonna release in exactly 13 months to the day . Release date being 18/07/08 .

Herezz the pic :

Feeling Guilty About Music Piracy ?? Herezz the solution !

So Much For The Piracy BULL SHIT !! Movie Industry Profits Rose By 9 % Last Year !

After a disappointing 2005 , the major studios of US have received official confirmation from the Motion Picture Association of America (yeahh ! the bloody MPAA) that their "all-media-revenue" (which includes all the sources of money - theatrical releases , dvd , satellite rights et cetera) expanded by an impressive 9 % to reach $ 43 Billion .

The crzy part is , if they have a bunch of crappy releases in an year , the movies would obviously fail at the box office and when such a thing happens they would blame it on the rampant piracy .

Have a great year by having some good releases , the profits would rise expectedly and then these b#$%^* would pat their own bloody backs and credit the same to their efforts to combat and reduce piracy .

People are still willing to pay for quality stuff and that is something that the lousy $^%& at MPAA should realise !

Dehydrated Alcohol !

Lolzz .. sounds weird aint it ? Well a bunch of dutch students have recently developed "powdered alcohol" which they claim can be sold to minors legally !

The latest innovation in inebriation, called Booz2Go, will be available in packets in packets of 20 grams and are priced between 1.5-2 $ .

This product was developed as a part of a final year project by 5 students , who are a part of a vocational course institute in Amsterdam .

The students claim that it is legal to sell it to minors as the product is not in the liquid form . They also claim that many companies would be interested in making this product because they could avoid higher taxation considering the fact that it is not in the liquid form !

CHEERS !
